How do I use a spring form heart shaped cake pan without a bottom?

I have a spring form heart shaped cake pan and I want to make a heart shaped angel food cake for the weekend. The problem is that I don't have a base for the heart pan. I have the circular base for the cheesecake/bundt cake but not a heart one. So, what do I do? Can I place the pan on a cookie sheet and pour the batter into the heart mold?
