Ideas Of What My Boyfriend Might Have?

A few weeks ago he went to the doctors because he didn't feel good, they told him he has an ear infection and to take medicine for two weeks and it'll go away (and he'll start feeling better). It's been over two weeks now and he's still not any better. He's made another doctor's appointment for later in the week but I'm just wondering if any of you know/think what he might have. He has horrible body aches, weakness and a headache. He also has horrible night sweats and he wakes up in the morning with his sheets practically soaked. This has been going on for a few weeks now and the medicine he took for his 'ear infection' didn't help. Ideas? Thanks.
